Climate Overview

Barbados has a tropical climate moderated by trade winds. Daytime highs generally range from the low 80s in winter to upper 80s in summer. The dry season runs from December through May, and the wet season from June through November, with September and October often the wettest months.

High Season: December Through April

This is widely considered the best period for sunshine, lower rainfall, and comfortable humidity. It is also the busiest and most expensive travel period, especially around holidays and Easter.

If your goal is reliable beach weather and calm sea conditions, this is the strongest booking window.

Shoulder Season: May, June, and November

Shoulder months offer a strong mix of warm weather and lower prices. Crowds decrease after peak season, and resort/flight rates often drop. Many travelers find late May and early June especially good value.

Wet and Hurricane Season: June Through November

Rainfall and humidity increase during this period, with higher storm risk usually between August and October. Barbados is less frequently hit directly than some islands, but storms are still possible.

This is often the cheapest period for airfare and hotels. Rain can come in shorter bursts, so budget-focused travelers can still have many good beach days.
